National Law University, Delhi – NLU Delhi, has published the announcement for the All India Law Entrance Test – AILET 2020 in various newspapers and also on the University website. AILET 2020 includes the AILET PG LLM, for admission into the LL.M One-Year Program of the prestigious institution for the academic year 2020-21.

The key dates for AILET 2020 PG LLM

  • Last date for submission of online applications : 08, April 2020
  • Availability of Admit Cards for eligible applicants : 22, April 2020 (To be downloaded from the NLU website)
  • Date of the AILET PG 2020 LLM entrance exam : May 3, 2020 (Sunday) – 10:00 am to 11:30 am
  • Academic Commencement of the LLM program : August, 2020

Basic Eligibility for AILET PG 2020 LLM Admissions

Applicants must have completed a BCI (Bar Council of India) recognized LL.B. or an Equivalent Law Degree with a minimum of 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/ Persons with Disabilities).

Candidates appearing in final year LL.B. Examination in April/May, 2020 can also apply and may be given provisional admission to the LLM program, subject to meeting the minimum eligibility criteria and producing the required evidence as on the specific date to be informed by NLU Delhi.

NLU Delhi LLM Seat Matrix & reservation

Total Seats to be filled on merit through the AILET 2020 PG LLM admissions test – 70 (Seventy). There will be one additional supernumerary seat for Kashmiri Migrants.

Foreign Nationals are exempted from AILET PG 2020, as there will an additional 10 Seats for direct admission to Foreign Nationals on merit (5 seats for Foreign Nationals & 5 seats for OCI/PIO)].

50% seats are reserved for students of Delhi. See the table below for a detailed break-up of the seats across categories and the reservations therein.

  • 5% horizontal reservation has been provided for Persons with Disabilities (PwD).
  • Kashmiri migrants includes Kashmiri Pandits and Kashmiri Hindu Families (Non Migrants) living in the Kashmir Valley.

 

Candidates passing the qualifying examination from a recognized School/ College/ Institute located within the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi only will be eligible to apply for seats reserved for Delhi Region.

For eligibility on reserved seats of SC/ ST/ OBC/ EWS categories under Delhi Region, the candidates must fulfill the requirement as above and also must possess a category/ caste certificate issued by the competent authority of the Government of Delhi.

All Indian Nationals passing qualifying examination from anywhere (including Delhi) are eligible under the All India Seats category.

Test Centers for AILET PG LLM Entrance test

The AILET 2020 PG LLM Entrance will be conducted in test centers across the following cities and towns : Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Cuttack, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Jodhpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Raipur, and Varanasi.

The exact details of the test center will be included in the Admit Card, along with other essential instructions.

AILET PG 2020 Exam Pattern

The AILET PG LLM entrance test will have 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) of 1 mark each, totalling up to 150 marks, that must be attempted within 1 hour 30 minutes.

There will be Negative Marking of -0.25 Marks (1/4th of a mark) per wrong answer. Unanswered questions will not have any negative marking.

Entrance Exam Fee for AILET PG 2020

  • There is no Entrance Examination fee for SC/ST candidates who qualify as being Below Poverty Line (BPL)
