  1. I called them regarding the negative marking aspect as I wasn’t sure. Person on the phone told me to check the website and when I conveyed the fact that there is no info there, he just blurted 1/3rd negative marking and abruptly cut the call before I could ask anything else.

    1. Prashant, thank you for bringing up the negative marking issue. Though there is no mention anywhere on the HPNLET website or notifications, there was a passing mention by a candidate from the previous year that there was a 0.25 or a 1/4th negative marking for wrong answers. This will be in-line with the CLAT & AILET patterns. It will also allow the scores to be in proper fractions – which may not be possible with a 1/3rd negative mark (which will require some rounding up & lead to complications). So I would be surprised if HPNLU goes with a 1/3rd negative marking.

We have reached out to the HPNLU folks for clarification, let’s wait for a day or two.

Meanwhile, for our HPNLET PG 2018 online practice pack, we will be updating it in the next couple of days to have a 0.25 negative mark for wrong answers (no negative for questions not attempted.)

  2. We have received and email confirmation from the HPNLU that there will be a 0.25 mark (1/4th mark) negative marking for HPNLET 2018. Our Mock tests – Sample papers have been duly updated.
