Introduction

Delhi University will  release the notification for admission to their Post Graduate Programs, including the LL.M program for 2021 . Students are advised to commence their preparation for DUET 2021 – (Delhi University Entrance Test 2021) well in advance.

Typically, two to three months of consistent preparation is required to score well in this exam.

The course-wise (Two and Three year L.L.M. Courses) allocation of seats for all admitted students in the L.L.M. courses shall be done solely on the merit basis only after the completion of the Admission Process for all seats in the said programme.

Eligibility Criteria for DU LLM 2021

The eligibility criteria for DU LLM 2021 admissions can be segregated into Course Requirements and Marks requirements.

Candidates appearing in the qualifying degree examination are also eligible to appear in the LL.M Entrance test; subject to meeting the mandatory eligibility criteria and submitting the required documents by the cut-off date as decided by the University.

Course Requirements

A three-year/ five year LL.B. Degree from the University of Delhi or any other Indian or Foreign University recognized as equivalent by the University of Delhi.

In other words, a BCI recognized LL.B degree from any UGC recognized Indian University is mandatory.

In case of a degree from a Foreign University, it should be recognized as equivalent to an Indian LL.B by the AIU – Association of Indian Universities and the BCI – Bar Council of India.

Marks Requirements

  • 50% marks or an equivalent grade point in the aggregate for UNRESERVED (General category).
  • 45% marks for OBC / CW / PWD 45% marks for SC/ST

Syllabus & Pattern for the DU LLM Entrance – 2021 – DUET PG 2021

The DU LLM Entrance Test 2021 will be of two hours duration. The language of the Entrance Test shall be English.

The Test Paper will consist of one question paper containing 100 objective-type questions with multiple choice answers relating to the following subjects :

  • Constitutional Law of India,
  • Jurisprudence,
  • Law of Contracts,
  • Sale of Goods,
  • Law of Torts,
  • Consumer Protection,
  • Criminal Law,
  • Family Law,
  • Public International Law,
  • Intellectual Property Law,
  • Cyber Law,
  • Environment Law,
  • Company Law and Partnership.
  • In addition a few questions may address contemporary legal issues.

 

Each question shall carry four marks. For every correct answer, four marks will be awarded and for every incorrect answer, one mark will be deducted. No marks will be awarded or deducted for a question which is left unanswered.

In general, the syllabus for the Entrance Test of each Postgraduate Course is the corresponding Bachelors Degree syllabus of the University of Delhi.

For the LL.M program, the syllabus will be based on the DU LLB subjects, which are essentially the standard LLB subjects prescribed by the Bar Council of India for LL.B courses across India. (As given below).

Conduct of the DUET – DU LLM PG Entrance 2021

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is entrusted with the conduct of University of Delhi Entrance Examination 2021 for Admissions to Entrance based Postgraduate Courses.

The NTA will conduct the exam in a ‘Center based’ online format, in multiple locations across the country.

How to prepare for the DU LLM 2021 ?

Considering the syllabus and question paper pattern of the DUET PG LLM 2021, the best way to prepare for the the exam is to solve all the previous question papers and solve as many mock tests as possible.

Since this is a memory biased exam; it is more important to know the answer than to be able to explain the answer.
