This article covers the essential details of National Highway Authority of India – NHAI PSU Recruitment through CLAT PG LLM. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) was constituted by an Act of Parliament namely National Highways Authority of India Act, 1988 for development, maintenance and management of National Highways vested or entrusted to it by the Central Government. The Authority became operational in February, 1995 with the appointment of its first Chairman.

The Authority started functioning from Transport Bhawan and later on moved to its own corporate building in Dwarka in 2001. Functions of the Authority are governed by National Highways Authority of India Act, 1988 and rules framed under the Act; Land acquisition for construction of national highways is governed by National Highways Act, 1956; and other matters related to encroachment and regulating the traffic on the highways are governed by The Control of National Highways (Land and Traffic) Act, 2002.

NHAI has evolved as a multidisciplinary professional body and the backbone for the road sector in the country. NHAI has a clear and evolving strategy to undertake these mega projects in a time bound and cost effective manner. The process of continuous improvement in the system is the hallmark of NHAI’s functioning. NHAI periodically invites applications from candidates holding Degree in LAW from a recognized University/National Law School/Institute, for engagement as Young Professionals (Legal) on contract basis for deployment at NHAI Offices across the country. The selection will be made on the basis of merit in Common Law Admission Test (CLAT)(Post Graduate) Score.

 

Age Limit for NHAI PSU Recruitment through CLAT PG LLM

Candidates should be below 32 years of age on the closing date of the application process. There will be Age relaxation as per Government of India rules for specific categories of candidates.

 

Period of Contract for NHAI PSU Recruitment through CLAT PG LLM

The period of engagement for the Young Professionals – Legal, may be for a period of up to two years in the first instance, which may be further extended by one more year, based on the requirements of the NHAI and the satisfactory performance of the incumbent.

Candidates will have to work with NHAI for a minimum of at least one year to be eligible for the experience certificate.

 

Remuneration for Young Professionals (Legal) at NHAI

In general, the Legal Young Professionals at NHAI will be paid an initial consolidated amount of Rs. 60,000 per month. The remuneration will be increased @ 5% for each succeeding year subject to satisfactory performance. These details are only indicative and the actual remuneration will be as per the notification for the year and applicable policies.

 

Essential Education qualification for NHAI PSU Recruitment through CLAT PG LLM

To be eligible for selection as a Young Professional, the prerequisites are :

• A Degree in Law (LLB) from a BCI recognized University / National Law School/Institute .
• The candidate should be eligible to practice as an Advocate in India.
• The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT)(Post Graduate) Score from the current year.

 

Essential Experience for NHAI PSU Recruitment through CLAT PG LLM

Candidates having experience in the field of law related to contractual matters/arbitration /legislative matters/land acquisition will get preference.

The experience can be in various areas of law such as : handling litigation (Civil, Consumer and Criminal matters) before different Judicial/ Quasi Judicial Forums, Arbitration and Conciliation matters, Drafting & vetting various legal documents, handling legal matters pertaining to Contracts and Land Acquisition, Regulatory matters of Industrial and labour law matters.

 

Selection process for NHAI PSU Recruitment

The primary shortlisting and selection will be done on the basis of merit in Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) Post Graduate Score. If multiple candidates have similar CLAT scores, the candidates having experience in the field of law related to contractual matters/arbitration /legislative matters/land acquisition will get preference.

Only the current year’s CLAT scores will be considered for the selection process.
