As we wait for the official announcement of the CLAT 2019, this is the Initial Press release by NLUO Cuttack, the Convener of this edition of the CLAT PG and CLAT UG exams for admissions to the various National Law Universities & Law Schools across India.
In addition, the CLAT scores are accepted by several other Law Schools as a shortlisting criteria for their 3 year and 5 year LLB programs and PG – LLM courses.
The CLAT PG LLM scores are also used by several PSUs to shortlist and recruit candidates for their Legal teams and other Legal positions.

The CLAT exam (CLAT PG and CLAT UG is now conducted by the CLAT Consortium.

CLAT – 2019 will be conducted by NLU Odisha

We are delighted to inform you all that the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT – 2019) will be conducted by National Law University Odisha on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at 3.00 P.M.
The Meeting of CLAT Core Committee Consortium at NUALS. Kochi on October 3 2018, further resolved to have a permanent CLAT secretariat at NLSIU Bangalore.
The CLAT will now be conducted by the newly formed Executive Committee of the Consortium that would have, NLSIU, Bangalore, NALSAR, Hyderabad and NLIU, Bhopal as its ex-officio members, CLAT Convenor of the year, and the CLAT Convenor of the following year and two co-opted Vice-Chancellors of NLUs nominated by the CLAT Convener who have past experience of conducting CLAT.

While the PSUs listed above have recruited through previous CLAT PG exams, their participation will depend on the number of vacancies and the time-line of their requirements. They use CLAT PG marks as one of the shortlisting criteria; and will have group discussion performance, personal interviews and previous academics as other possible selection criteria.
