What has changed in the New CLAT PG 2019 Practice Pack for NLU LLM admissions ?

We have included the latest  2018 CLAT PG question paper in the CLAT PG 2019 practice pack
The number of Mock Tests has been significantly increased to 100 Mock Tests
+ You now will have 50 full-length Mock Tests with 100 Questions each as per 2019 pattern
+ Based on user feedback, we have added 50 ‘Mini Mock Tests’, with 25 questions each – for quick 30 minute practice sessions
+ Overall MCQ database has been increased to around 9500+ questions

The pattern of the CLAT PG LLM  examination has evolved over the years, with the number of questions and the overall pattern changing every few years. Between 2009 to 2014, the question paper had objective and essay type questions. From 2015 onward, the CLAT PG LLM is a completely objective type exam. The 2019 exam will again have a subjective part.

For the subjective part, we have looked at previous CLAT papers + other trends to arrive at a list of topics which may be covered. We will also include guidelines and tips on how to tackle the essay type questions.

Students should practice writing one ~ two page essays using the guidelines. Essay type questions are more about your ability to present your thoughts in a structured manner; usually there are no right / wrong answers.

The CLAT PG 2019 exam is conducted by one of the NLUs for admission to postgraduate law programmes – LLM programs in all the participating NLUs.

CLAT PG 2019 exam preparation strategy and tips

There are several articles on LawMint.com which cover the CLAT exam preparation strategy for the LLB entrance test in specific. As such, since the exam is a multiple-choice based exam with more emphasis on memory; the ideal strategy would be to practice as many mock tests as possible.

We feel that there is no additional study material required for preparation. The reason is that for 99% of the questions, there is no additional explanation required. If any additional material is required for reference, the bare-acts on the Govt. of India websites are sufficient.

The idea is to practice as many MCQs and their variations as possible till the answers become etched in the candidate’s memory – Which is also the reason why we provide more mock tests than any other website or book.

Also, the questions and answers choices in our mock tests are randomized every time you take it and new questions are drawn from a database of over 7500+ MCQs with every attempt – this allows for better practice.

To illustrate, take a look at some of the questions from the CLAT 2018 question paper.- There are no quant / reasoning questions.

At best there will be a few rudimentary situational analysis questions like “A, B were going to a house to commit dacoity, en-route, they met C and asked him if he could keep a watch for the police while they committed the offence. C stood guard outside, A & B committed the actual dacoity, is C liable ?” – Even here, once you know the right answer, you can answer any similar question.

The best preparation approach

[1] First complete all the previous papers in the mock-test series
[2] After each paper, make note of your marks in each paper
[3] Review each paper and pay attention to the questions you got wrong and try to memorize the correct answers, also for questions where you just guessed the answers
[4] Repeat all the papers again and track your progress
[5] Move on to the Mock tests and just keep completing as many mock tests as you can

Remember to review the correct answers for each previous paper and mock test before you move on to the next one.

Keep repeating the mock tests till you consistently score more that 85%.
