Moving towards a June and December – twice in a year cycle for the All India Bar Examination, the BCI has announced the dates for the AIBE XII 2018.

The Calendar for AIBE XII 2018

  • Online registration begins from 09th March, 2018*
  • Bank payment through challan starts from 10th March, 2018*
  • Online registration closes 05th May, 2018* at 5:00 pm
  • Last date for payment of challan for online registration 10th May, 2018*
  • Last date for completion of online form 15th May, 2018*
  • Last date for completion of incomplete form (if any) 22nd May, 2018* 5:00 pm
  • Online release of admit cards 29th May, 2018*
  • Date of Examination 10th June, 2018*

The dates and details are still tentative and can be modified by the Bar Council of India over the next few weeks.

There is no change in the registration process for All India Bar Examination – AIBE XII 2018 as compared to the previous editions of the exam.

Before you start the registration process, you will need to be enrolled with your State Bar Council. Check out this article for contact details of the various State Bar Councils.

Instructions to Register for AIBE XII 2018

• Register yourself for the AIBE XII 2018 on the All India Bar Examination website
• Upload all the required documents i.e. Photograph , Signature and Enrolment Certificate (State Bar Council Enrolment)
• All the documents should be self attested. (Sign your name on a copy of the document and scan it for upload)
• Any document uploaded without attestation will be rejected / disqualified. (Note: There is a mention of ‘Notarized’ documents in the registration form for Disability and/or SC/ST certificates. It would be preferable to upload a copy of Notary attested certificates, with your signature also for self-attestation)
• In case you have entered any wrong information or uploaded a wrong document, Kindly get it rectified by mailing the AIBE team / Bar Council, along with your registration number on aibe.bci@gmail.com , before the release of admit card.
• Any rectification requests received after the release of admit card will be sent to the council for approval, any inconvenience caused due to the same will be the responsibility of the candidate.
• Make sure your documents, photograph and signature are correctly uploaded.
• Applicants DO NOT have to send any document by post.
• Make sure you keep a print out of your application form for your reference. (You can make use of the Windows Print-to-pdf feature and retain a soft-copy in your email)
• Make sure you enter your correct email and contact number as these will be used for all communication from our end. (You should use your primary email ID and your Aadhaar verified mobile number to ensure you don’t lose access.)

Additional instructions for Applicants under SC/ST Category

• Applicants from SC/ST category are also required to upload a self-attested copy of their SC/ST certificate in English or Hindi language along with the other required documents.
• In case SC/ST certificate is not uploaded during the registration process no relaxation on fees will be provided. the fee for SC/ST is Rs. 2560 and fee for General/OBC is Rs. 3560. (Verify on the Official website before making payment)
• In case any candidate has applied under the concession of SC/ST and does not provide proper documents, then their candidature shall be rejected and the registration amount will not be refunded. Such Applicants will have to apply afresh.

Additional Instructions for Disabled / Physically challenged Applicants

• Applicants with 80% or more disability under specific category like blindness, amputated arms will be given 20 minutes extra time per hour. (Physically challended applicants should contact the AIBE for information on the provision of scribes.)
• Applicants under this category are required to upload a self-attested copy of their disability certificate.
• Applicants are required to carry their disability certificate on the day of examination as well.
• In case disability certificate is not uploaded during the registration process or before the release of admit card, no extra time will be provided.

Instructions for Applicants with Illness / Special needs

• Applicants suffering from any illness which requires special attention are required to inform the same via e-mail to aibe.bci@gmail.com
• Applicants are required to carry a certified copy from the doctor on the day of examination.
• In case such information is not provided during the registration process or before the release of admit card, no special facility will be provided. (Physically challenged applicants should contact the AIBE for information on the provision of scribes.)

Terms and Conditions

1) Fees once submitted / paid towards AIBE registration is non- refundable under any circumstances.
2) No study Material will be provided.
3) Candidate has to be enrolled with respective state bar council to appear for the AIBE.
4) Admit cards and result will be published online on our website http://www.allindiabarexamination.com
5) Council reserves the right to extend the said examination date in case of unavoidable circumstances.
6) In case the examination date is changed and if a candidate is unable to appear for the examination, the candidate should inform the same within 10 days of release of such dates.

  • Passing marks continue to be 40 (Marks and Percentage)

Online Application Process

This is the application process for the AIBE XII 2018 –  All India Bar Examination.  As in the previous years, the application process is expected to be completely online – other than the payment of the BCI – AIBE exam fee, which will continue to be accepted at any SBI – State Bank of India branch.

Applicants may note that with the merger of five nationalized banks with the SBI, the number of ‘SBI’ branches has increased. State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur (SBBJ), State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH), State Bank of Mysore (SBM), State Bank of Patiala (SBP), State Bank of Travancore (SBT) and the Bharatiya Mahila Bank (BMB) are now renamed as State Bank of India (SBI).

Step 1

Before starting the online registration process, keep these following documents ready.
a) Advocate ID card (if issued by State Bar Council)
b) Enrolment Certificate (Issued by the State Bar Council)
c) Scanned photo & signature (In JPEG format)
d) ST / SC Category Certificate (if applicable)
e) Disability certificate (if applicable)

Step 2

Go to the www.allindiabarexamination.com website and Click the ‘Register here’ link on the left side menu of the home page. (Click on the links referring to AIBE XII. The images below are for reference only)

Step 3

Fill the Registration Form on the AIBE website, upload your documents. Enter your Enrolment number (Your State Bar Council Enrolment number) with the State Code accurately, as per your Enrolment Certificate, to prevent rejection of your application.

Use your current and active mobile number, email address in the AIBE forms.

Press the ‘Save’ Button after completion – on last page. After that your AIBE Registration Number & Password will be generated and sent to your mobile number & e- mail ID.

Step 4

After submission, check your email ID for AIBE Registration number & Password.

Make a note of these details on a paper and also take a print-out for your records.

Step 5

Go to the home page of www.allindiabarexamination.com and Click on the ‘Login Here’ link on the left side menu of the page.

Step 6

Enter your AIBE Registration Number & Password (Which you would have received as a message to your mobile phone and your registered email ID). Click on the ‘Login’ button.

Step 7

After you successfully login, you will see your registration details. Double check all the details to ensure that they have been captured correctly and click on the ‘Print Challan’ button to print the State Bank of India payment slip.

If your details are not correct, you should call the AIBE help desk numbers or send the details to the official email address for corrections. (These details will be available in BCI’s official notification ahead of the exam.)

Step 8

After clicking on the ‘Print Challan’ button, you will see the SBI payment challan. Use the print command from your browser menu or the print short-cut (Ctrl+P) to take a print out of the document. The format will be as per the image shown below :

Step 9

It takes around 24 hours from the time of registration for the candidate & challan details to get activated for payment. LawMint.com recommends giving the system at least two days before processing the payment.

For example, if you complete the registration and take a print-out of the challan on the 10th of the month, wait till the 12th of the month to go to any branch of SBI to complete the payment.

Take a printed copy of challan; without it your payment cannot be processed.

Step 10

Complete the payment in the bank and retain the sealed & signed Candidate copy of the challan with you. (You can also keep a soft copy of the challan as a picture on your mobile phone.)

Scan the document and keep a soft-copy of the document read for upload into the AIBE website.

Step 11

Allow at least 24 hours for the SBI payment details to be updated in the AIBE website. Login into your account using the same registration number & password (which you have earlier received on your mobile and email).

Step 12

On your profile page where you see your Registration details, click on the ‘Upload Challan & Details’ button. You will be taken to the upload page.

Step 13

Upload the soft-copy of the challan and enter the ‘journal number’, ‘branch code’ & ‘date of challan’ exactly as mentioned on the student copy of the challan copy. Click the ‘submit’ button when you are done.

Step 14

Go back to the Registration details page and click on the ‘Application Form’ button. Take a print out of the complete Application Form for your reference.

Step 15

Your application form will look as per the image below. Take a print out and also save a copy on your computer.

Step 16

Double Check your details, photograph & signature on the application form. If there are any errors or missing details, kindly contact the AIBE XII 2018 help desk numbers or send in a email as per the details provided in BCI’s official notification.

Your registration is now complete! The next step will be to login to the AIBE XII 2018 All India Bar Exam website once the admit cards are ready and download + print a copy of your exam admit card.

Remember, you don’t have to send any of the document hard copies to BCI.
