In this article, we will cover all the important aspects of the upcoming All India Bar Exam XVII or AIBE 17, to be held in early 2023. What is the AIBE XVII and who needs to take the All India Bar Exam?
The AIBE XVII is the qualifying examination that needs to be cleared by all law graduates, who intend to practice law in India. The basic outline of the AIBE is as below:
- There will be 100 questions in the AIBE XVII
- Each question will carry 1 mark for the correct answer
- There is no negative marking in the All India Bar Exam 17 – 2023
- Candidates are allowed 3.5 hours (210 minutes) to attempt the paper
- This will be a partial open book exam (see the next section for details)
- Candidates will have to score a minimum of 40% (40 marks out of 100) to clear the exam
- There is no section wise or topic wise cut-off in the AIBE XVII 2023

- Seventy Five Full-Length AIBE Mock Tests - Sample Papers from a Question Bank of over 9500+ AIBE specific questions

AIBE XVII (17) – 2023 – Official Syllabus
The syllabus of the All India Bar Exam has remained unchanged over the past few years. The AIBE XVII 2023 syllabus is based on the standard BCI recommended LL. B syllabus that is incorporated into the 3-year and 5-year LL. B degree programs of universities and law colleges across India.

AIBE XVII (17) 2023 – Mock Tests and Practice Papers

AIBE – All India Previous Question papers
Students should solve all the previous question papers that are similar to the current pattern of the All India Bar Exam.

Reference material for the AIBE XVII (17) 2023
As per Bar Council of India’s official notification, Bare Acts without notes are allowed to carried into the exam hall by the candidates.
In case of unavailability of Bare Acts without notes, Bare Acts with least short notes will be allowed subject to discretion of the Examiner/Invigilator.
We recommend that candidates can either print copies of the relevant Bare Acts or carry publications from reputed publishers, with minimal notes or explanations. Hand-written notes and comments should be avoided to minimize the risk of rejection of the reference material by the officials at the exam hall.
