As per the Bar Council of India notification, the 14th edition of the All India Bar Examination will be held on the 15th September, 2019. The official AIBE syllabus for XIV is as below.

The syllabus has not been changed since the previous exam and the exam pattern,  number of questions and the weightage for the questions remains the same as the previous All India Bar Exam.

  • There will be 100 questions in the AIBE XIV
  • All Questions will carry similar marks – i.e. 1 mark per question
  • There is no negative marking for AIBE exam
  • AIBE is a pass-fail exam; i.e. the specific marks obtained by a candidate may not be published and there will not be any ranking in the exam
  • The passing marks for AIBE exam is 40 – i.e. candidates will have to score 40 marks overall to pass the exam
  • In case of questions being deleted when the questions and / or answers are challenged after the exam results are announced, the AIBE passing marks will also be correspondingly adjusted
  • The exam will continue to be an open book exam – i.e. candidate can carry any printed or hand written material into the exam hall
  • No electronic devices are allowed, such as mobile phones, smart watches, calculators etc.
  • The fee for SC/ST candidates is Rs. 2560 and fee for General/OBC candidates is Rs. 3560

Important Instructions for Registering for the AIBE XIV Exam:

  • Upload all the required documents i.e. Recent Photograph , Signature Specimen, Photo Id & State Bar Council Enrollment Certificate
  • All the documents should be self attested.  (Note: BCI has published a list of candidates whose uploaded certificates are not self-attested.)
  • Important: Any document uploaded without attestation will be rejected / disqualified.  Such candidates may not receive their hall tickets / admit cards or their results may be withheld.
  • In case you have uploaded a wrong documents, you can login again with your registration Id & Password (After Payment) and upload the corrected Document.
  • Once the documents and information of the candidate have been approved by the BCI, the candidate cannot make any further changes.
  • Candidates DO NOT have to send any documents or application AIBE registration forms by post.
  • Make sure you keep a print out of your completed AIBE application form for your reference.
  • Make sure you enter your correct email and contact number as these will be used for all official communication regarding the AIBE Exam.

Other Important Instructions for AIBE All India Bar Examination Candidates

Registration Process for AIBE
  • Register yourself for the AIBE XIV on this link : http://aibe14.allindiabarexamination.com/Registrationtm.aspx
  • Upload all the required documents i.e. Photograph, Signature & Enrolment Certificate.
  • This exam is applicable only for enrolled advocates. Enrolment number/certificate issued by any state bar council is mandatory for application to this examination.
  • All the documents should be self attested.
  • Any document uploaded without attestation will be rejected/disqualified. In case you have entered any wrong information or uploaded a wrong document, Kindly get it rectified by mailing the BCI the details of the correction along with your registration number on aibe.bci@gmail.com, before the release of admit card.
  • Any rectification requests received after the release of admit card will be sent to the council for approval, any inconvenience caused due to the same will be the responsibility of the candidate.
  • Make sure your documents; photograph and signature are correctly uploaded.
  • Candidates DO NOT have to send any documents or forms by post.
  • Make sure you keep a print out of your application form for your reference.
  • Make sure you enter your correct email id and contact number as these will be used for all communication from the BCI.
Additional instructions for candidates under SC/ST Category for AIBE registration
  • Applicants from SC/ST category are also required to upload a self-attested copy of their SC/ST certificate in English or Hindi language along with the other required documents.
  • In case SC/ST certificate is not uploaded during the registration process no relaxation on fees will be provided.
  • The fee for SC/ST is Rs. 2560 and fee for General/OBC is Rs. 3560.
  • In case any candidate has applied under the concession of SC/ST and does not provide proper documents, then their candidature shall be rejected and the registration amount will not be refunded. Such candidates will have to apply afresh.
Additional Instructions for disabled / physically challenged candidates / candidates with illness / special needs applying for the AIBE Exam
  • Candidates with 50% or more disability under specific category like blindness, amputated arms will be given 20 minutes extra time per hour.
  • Candidates under this category are required to upload a self-attested copy of their disability certificate.
  • Candidates are required to carry their disability certificate on the day of examination as well.
  • In case disability certificate is not uploaded during the registration process or before the release of admit card, no extra time will be provided.
  • Candidates suffering from any illness which requires special attention are required to inform the same via e-mail to aibe.bci@gmail.com
  • Candidates are required to carry a certified copy from the doctor on the day of examination.
  • In case such information is not provided during the registration process or before the release of admit card, no special facility will be provided.
Payment Instructions for AIBE Exam Registration

1. Fees once submitted/paid towards AIBE registration are non-refundable and non-adjustable under any circumstances.
2. Candidates can choose one out of the two payment options i.e. through online payment/SBI challan.
3. Once chosen the payment option, other payment options won’t be available.
4. In case of failure message in terms of payment received at the payment page, candidates are requested to send an email on aibe.bci@gmail.com and wait for 24 hours for their payment status.
5. Payment status will be received via mail, if not; candidate can check their application status online or contact us on our helpline number for further queries.
6. Emails for any other concern will not be entertained on the given email id.

1. No study material will be provided by the Bar Council of India
2. Candidate has to be enrolled with respective State Bar Council to appear for the AIBE.
3. Admit cards and results will be published ONLY online on the official website : www.allindiabarexamination.com
4. The Bar Council of India reserves the right to extend the said examination date in case of unavoidable circumstances.
5. In case the examination date is changed and if a candidate is unable to appear for the examination, the candidate should inform the same within 10 days of release of such dates.
