Intent or purpose of the Scheduled Areas (Assimilation of Laws) Act, 1953
The Legislature of India enacted the Scheduled Areas (Assimilation of Laws) Act, 1953 on 6th May 1953, to assimilate certain laws in force in the scheduled areas to the laws in force in the districts of Nowgong and Sibsagar in the State of Assam.
The act is associated with the Ministry of Home Affairs – Department of States.
