Intent or purpose of the Armed Forces (Jammu and Kashmir) Special Powers Act, 1990
The Legislature of India enacted the Armed Forces (Jammu and Kashmir) Special Powers Act, 1990 on 10th September 1990, to enable certain special powers to be conferred upon members of the armed forces in the disturbed areas in the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
The act is associated with the Ministry of Home Affairs – Department of Internal Security.
